Maria Davies

I produced a series of 14 black and white illustrations for Maria Davies’ book Speaking in Stilettos: the Power of the Feminine Presentation.

FT Weekend

I illustrated Rowley Leigh’s cookery column in the FT Weekend for two years. These were images of either food, ingredients or chefs. 20 images were exhibited at the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival 2004 in support of Restaurants Against Hunger and Action Against Hunger.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan

I created a range of stationery depicting events at Heligan in it’s heyday. The range comprised correspondence paper, greetings cards, bookmarks, recipe cards, jam labels, birthday calendar and an A2 poster. The illustration and calligraphy styles were set in the 1880’s to tie in with the restoration. I produced roughs for a yearbook for Macmillan Books in conjunction with a Channel 4 documentary about the restoration.

The Shaker Garden

The brief from David and Charles Publishers was to create a series of images for each chapter based on the Shaker style. I also had to create a calligraphic font which was used as a sub headline throughout the book. The style was adapted from a diary written by a young woman living in the community.
