Mayers Family House Book 1972-2005

The Mayers family commissioned me to create a series of 20 illustrations depicting life at their family home. They were selling the house and wanted to create a book of memories: drawings, photos and memorabilia.

The brief was to draw the poem in a 17th century italic calligraphy script. The border was created with distressed paint-work and 23 3/4 carat gold leaf.

Gaynor wanted a bespoke gift for her Mother’s birthday. We worked together to create a picture of significant events which illustrated her favourite song.

Penn Family Tree

I was commissioned by the Penn family to create a family tree for their parents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary. The tree comprised three generations of the family and included momentos of their life together.

Whitehead Mann, Sir Peter Parker’s retirement book

I was commissioned by Dr Anna Mann to create a retirement gift for Sir Peter Parker. I designed a book with illustrations detailing his life as Chairman of Whitehead Mann – stories, anecdotes, world events, achievements. The book comprised 96 illustrations and pages of messages from his colleagues. I used a 17th century style of calligraphy, dip pen and ink, handmade papers and 23 3/4 carat gold leaf.

I have wanted to say to you directly how equally delighted and impressed I have been by the book. You know how much I think about William Blake as an artist and poet, so your imaginative and beautiful work illustrating ideas means a lot to me and really worked and I shall treasure the book. Sir Peter Parker’s The Twelve Commandments

Dr Mann commissioned me to illustrate Sir Peter Parker’s The Twelve Commandments for the company’s clients. An illustration was presented once the brief had been completed. I created illustrations for Corus, The Boots Group and Cable & Wireless.

Birthday card

My client wanted a bespoke Birthday card for his wife’s 40th. I produced a simple calligraphic image of her favourite poem: A Red, Red Rose by Robert Burns, with a border of distressed paint work and gold leaf.
